Overview
Suspension Bridge Tour in La Fortuna, Costa Rica
Discover La Fortuna’s tropical rainforest from different heights as you explore trails and suspension bridges in the Arenal Volcano area. This guided hike combines nature, scenery, and wildlife observation in one of the region’s most iconic experiences.
The route covers approximately 3.2 kilometers of trails and 16 bridges, including both fixed and suspended structures. As you make your way along the trail, the scenery changes: first, you walk among the vegetation on the forest floor, and gradually, some of the bridges take you up into the canopy, revealing the scale of the ecosystem from a different perspective.
Accompanied by a naturalist guide, you’ll discover details that could easily go unnoticed: plants, trees, sounds, and signs of the animals that inhabit the forest. Tropical birds, monkeys, sloths, reptiles, amphibians, and other animals are part of the region’s biodiversity, although every encounter depends entirely on nature and no sightings can be guaranteed.
The scenery is also part of the experience. On clear days, different points along the route may offer views of Arenal Volcano, creating special opportunities to pause and photograph one of Costa Rica’s most celebrated natural landscapes.
The Arenal Hanging Bridges are an excellent option for those who want to explore La Fortuna’s nature in a relaxed, immersive way. More than simply crossing bridges, the experience lets you walk through different levels of the forest and understand why this region is one of Costa Rica’s leading nature destinations.
