Fly among the trees and discover La Fortuna’s most adventurous side. The Canopy and Tarzan Swing in Arenal combines zip lines, heights, and speed on a route designed to experience the tropical forest from a completely different perspective.

The adventure begins with a safety briefing and equipment fitting. Then it’s time to leave the ground and make your way along a series of cables and platforms set among the vegetation.

Each zip line offers a new perspective: trees, mountains, and different levels of the forest make up the scenery as you travel from one platform to another. When weather conditions and the route’s location allow, the Arenal Volcano may appear as part of the scenery.

And just when it seems the adventure is over, a different challenge awaits: the Tarzan Swing.

Unlike a zip line, where you travel along the cable, the Tarzan Swing involves a drop and a pendulum-like movement that adds an extra dose of adrenaline to the experience.

The result is an activity for those who want to experience Arenal from above and combine speed, forest, and adventure in just a few hours.

Policies and Restrictions

Reservation: It is recommended to book in advance. The activity is subject to availability.

Punctuality: Participants must arrive at the time indicated in their confirmation to complete registration, put on their equipment, and receive safety instructions.

Minimum age: The minimum age specified for this activity is 6 years. The participation of minors is also subject to the physical and safety requirements established by the operator.

Minors: Children must remain under adult supervision and follow the guides’ instructions throughout the activity.

Physical condition: The experience requires moving between platforms and taking part in an adventure activity at height. Participants must be in appropriate physical condition.

Health conditions: The activity may not be recommended for pregnant people or those with certain heart conditions, recent injuries, back or neck problems, or other conditions that could be affected by sudden movements or activities at height. If you have any specific condition, it is recommended that you consult before booking.

Weight, height, and dimensions: Participation may be subject to weight, height, or size limits to ensure a proper fit of the harness and other equipment. Specific requirements will be confirmed in accordance with the operator’s policies.

Safety equipment: The helmet, harness, and other equipment provided must be worn correctly throughout the entire course.

Tarzan Swing: Participation is subject to the safety conditions established by the operator. Any additional age, weight, or physical condition restrictions must be met, regardless of the general canopy requirements.

Alcohol and substances: Participation is not permitted while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or substances that may affect balance, coordination, or the ability to follow instructions.

Weather conditions: Rain does not necessarily mean the activity will be canceled. However, thunderstorms, strong winds, or other hazardous conditions may result in changes, delays, or cancellations.

Instructions: All participants must follow the guides’ instructions and remain within authorized areas.

Canopy course
A route through a series of cables and platforms installed in a tropical forest setting.

Zip lines
Travel between platforms that allows participants to experience different heights, speeds, and perspectives of the natural surroundings.

Tarzan Swing
An additional activity featuring a pendulum-like motion and a different sensation from that experienced on the zip lines.

Guides
Guides accompany participants throughout the route, prepare them for the activity, and provide safety instructions at its different stages.

Safety equipment
The equipment required for the route is provided, including a harness, helmet, pulleys, and any other items specified by the operator.

Pre-activity briefing
Before starting, participants receive information about how to use the equipment, body position on the zip lines, braking procedures where applicable, and safety rules.

Fruit and water
A light snack and drinking water are included, depending on the option booked.

Scenery

The route takes place in the natural surroundings of Arenal. Views of Arenal Volcano depend on the location of each section of the course and the weather conditions at the time, and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

What to bring

To enjoy the activity comfortably, we recommend bringing:

• Comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement.
• Long pants or clothing that is comfortable to wear with a harness.
• Closed-toe shoes that fit securely.
• Sunscreen.
• Insect repellent.
• A lightweight waterproof jacket during the rainy season.
• Long hair tied back.
• A change of clothes, especially during the rainy season.

Avoid wearing jewelry or accessories, or bringing loose items that could fall off while ziplining.

The use of cameras, phones, action cameras, or other devices during the tour is subject to the operator’s safety requirements.

Canopy equipment
The necessary equipment is provided for the zip lines and other activities included in the tour.

Guide accompaniment
Staff accompany the group throughout the course and coordinate movement between platforms.

Tarzan Swing
A second adventure experience that complements the zip lines with a different sensation of falling and movement.
