Overview

Whale and Dolphin Watching, Osa Peninsula

Embark on a whale and dolphin watching excursion on the Osa Peninsula, one of the most outstanding natural destinations on Costa Rica’s South Pacific coast.

From the Águila de Osa dock, you’ll sail the waters of the Pacific Ocean in search of humpback whales, their calves, and other cetacean species. During the trip, you’ll also have the opportunity to spot dolphins that inhabit these waters.

The Osa Peninsula receives two seasonal migrations of humpback whales: one from the Northern Hemisphere, between January and April, and one from the Southern Hemisphere, between July and October. These periods offer opportunities to look for whales and observe, weather permitting, natural behaviors such as mothers traveling alongside their calves.

Enjoy a nature-watching experience on board, with cold drinks, homemade cookies, and fresh fruit. The excursion lasts approximately 3 to 5 hours and is suitable for all ages, according to the provider.
