Fly among the treetops and discover the Monteverde cloud forest from a completely different perspective. The Selvatura Park Canopy Tour combines adventure, adrenaline, and nature on a zipline course that crosses the forest canopy, allowing you to experience one of Costa Rica’s most iconic landscapes from above.

The adventure includes 13 cables and 15 platforms, spread across approximately 3.5 kilometers of course. As you make your way between platforms, the cables let you glide over and through the cloud forest until you reach one of the most impressive moments of the experience: a cable approximately 1 kilometer long, where the sensation of flying takes on a completely different dimension.

The course also includes the Tarzan Swing, subject to the applicable safety restrictions. For those looking to take the adventure one step further, the Superman option is available as an optional add-on, subject to availability, physical requirements, and an additional fee.

More than just a series of ziplines, this experience lets you discover the cloud forest from a place we wouldn’t normally be able to access: its canopy. An excellent option for those seeking adventure in Monteverde and wanting to experience Costa Rica’s nature with an extra dose of adrenaline.

Policies and Restrictions

Safety is an essential part of the experience. All participants must follow the instructions provided by the guides and properly use the safety equipment throughout the entire course.

Minimum age: 4 years. Minors must participate under adult supervision.

Maximum weight: 125 kg / 275 lb.

Maximum harness dimensions:

• Waist: 120 cm / 47 in.
• Leg: 75 cm / 30 in.

Health Restrictions

This activity is not permitted for people with:

• Heart problems.
• Pregnancy.
• Osteoporosis.
• Back problems.
• Surgeries performed within the last six months.

Tarzan Swing

Maximum permitted weight: 90 kg / 198 lb.

Superman

The Superman option is an optional add-on to the Canopy Tour and has specific requirements:

• Minimum weight: 55 kg / 121 lb.
• Minimum height: approximately 1.55 m / 61 in.
• Subject to availability, safety conditions, and an additional fee.

Cancellations

• Cancellations made 48 hours or more in advance: 100% refund.
• Cancellations made less than 48 hours and up to 24 hours before: 50% refund.
• Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance: non-refundable.
• No-show: 100% penalty.

Cases considered to be force majeure will be subject to review.

Selvatura Park may modify or cancel the activity when weather conditions, thunderstorms, or other circumstances pose a risk to the safety of visitors or staff.

What to bring

To comfortably enjoy the canopy tour in the Monteverde cloud forest, we recommend bringing:

• Comfortable, closed-toe shoes; they are required for the activity.
• Long pants or leggings, recommended for greater comfort with the harness.
• Comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement.
• A waterproof jacket or rainwear when weather conditions require it.
• Sunscreen and insect repellent.
• Long hair must be tied back during the activity.

Hats or caps may not be worn during the tour, and large hoop earrings are not allowed.

Amenities

The experience includes the equipment needed for ziplining and assistance from trained staff throughout the tour.

Before beginning, participants receive the necessary instructions on how to use the equipment and the safety measures they must follow during the activity.

The experience takes place in the natural surroundings of Selvatura Park, in the Monteverde cloud forest.
